The A129 is VIOFO’s answer to the 2-channel dash cam market; something that was long awaited from the bang-for-buck dash camera company. By no way do we consider VIOFO a “budget” camera (budget would insinuate that you would trade off features in exchange for a lower cost), because it’s fully-featured and shows real competition against the current market. The A129 is proof that you truly can have it all, without compromise.

The dual Sony Exmor Image Sensors within the front and rear cameras give detailed Full HD 1080P resolution recording with low noise in all lighting conditions.

DUAL BAND Wi-Fi
Dual-band Wi-Fi camera is capable of transmitting in either of two different standard frequency ranges, the ability to utilize 5 GHz on a dual band camera helps avoid wireless interference, thus the A129 has more stable WiFi signal and faster WiFi speed.

2.0"HD SCREEN
The 2.0" HD screen allows for easy setup and playback of videos as a convenient alternative to using Wi-Fi and a smartphone.

EXTERNAL GPS
The external GPS module can record your speed and route data in the video file allowing compatible viewers to display the data on playback. It will also keep the camera’s clock synchronized with GPS time so that the video files are correctly time stamped.

CPL Filter (OPTIONAL)
An optional CPL (Circular Polarizing Lens) can be used to reduce reflections and glare from the window glass and road surfaces that can otherwise damage image quality, this works in the same way as polarized sunglasses.

REMOTE CONTROL Bluetooth (OPTIONAL)
With the Bluetooth remote control mounted in a convenient location on your dashboard you can safely protect important events from being overwritten, without needing to take your eyes off the road.

CAPACITOR POWER SUPPLY

Viofo a129 duo hardwired.. IMO worth every penny

From outstanding customer service, Bob was very helpful and patient. Worked with me amid this crisis of global pandemic. His 24/7 service was convenient and one of my best experiences with a dealer. The VIofo A129 duo is a great camera. During the day picture is quite clear, around sunset, license plates start to get blurry. At night, the front camera sensor is great but the rear, not so much. They both have the cpl filter calibrated and installed and my rear windows have 5% tint. All the camera picks up is headlights alone. Parking mode is what intrigued me the most along with the profile of the form factor. The Rexing equivalent was just too bulky. Installation was fairly straightforward. Everything cleaned up nicely, and got my front camera mounted in an inconspicuous position. I love that the kit included Dashoto’s installation kit which helped out immensely. For my first time diving into the world of dash cams, Dashoto was a great place to start

Still trying to figure out which setting works best for my parking situation. Cost for a first time dashcam was very reasonable

Hey, I have an A129 duo dash cam. When I connect my phone to its Wi-Fi, it shows me my driving in real time. I wanted to ask if there's a way to transfer videos from the cam (the SD card for example) to my phone so everytime that I want to look at videos on my computer I have to take the SD card away?

Yes, you can transfer files via WiFi from the cam to your phone via the app. It will be pretty slow, but possible.
Today I went to my car and noticed the red lights were all off on the camera, which wasn't responding at all. I turned on the engine and the camera restarted. I've been using the parking mode for months, installing the camera with the Viofo hardware kit, and had no problems whatsoever, and haven't changed any setting since. This is the current behaviour: 1 - Camera works and records properly when engine's on. 2 - Switching off engine correctly switch camera to parking mode (I can see the icon with the car changing in the one with a P, plus a double beepbeep and red light blinking). 3 - Screen on the camera stays on for around 60 seconds (I can see red dot blinking for recording). 4 - Screen on the camera goes off but red lights on the camera are still on. Up to this point, everything seems normal, until: 5 - After around 30 seconds from the screen going off, the red light of REC starts to blink, then the camera goes totally off and become unresponsive. If engine is turned on again, the camera restart itself with the Viofo logo. Also worth to mention that if I restart the engine during those 50 seconds of parking mode, the camera correctly switches again to driving mode. It seems that everything's fine as it used to be, apart from the fact that the camera seems to lose power after around a total of 90 seconds (60 with the screen on, and 30 after the screen's gone off). What could it be the cause? Thanks for your help.

Your battery is weaker.
There is a 90 second buffer period between when the hardwire kit senses power below the cut off set point and when it powers down the camera.
Either give the the battery a good charger with a charger, lower your set cut off point or replace your battery.
How long does it usually take to install this camera?

For a non-hatchback car, it normally takes around 30 minutes - 1.5 hours, if you spend the time to pop open some of the trim on the vehicle. For a hatchback, it can be anywhere from 1-4 hours, depending on the vehicle. Without the right tools, you may also be looking at postponing the installation as well.
